Position:         .Net Developer

Location:        Novi, Michigan

Duration:        6 month contract to hire (pending employment performance)

PURPOSE:  This person will be reporting to the Associate Director of Application Development and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the Client’s internal and external applications.  They will be working on a small development team and will be interacting with very non-technical end-users so this individual must be able have strong and effective communication skills. 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

q       Develops/Maintains/Supports the organization’s internal and external desktop applications

q       Works with Associate Director of Application Services to identify and integrate applications

q       Analyzes current applications and recommends proactive changes to meet emerging IT and business owner goals

q       Provides full life cycle support for custom developed desktop applications

q       Assists IT Management by developing, communicating, and executing IT’s Mission, Vision, Strategy, and goals.

q       Acts as custom application technical support for issues elevated past the Helpdesk.

Required Skills:

q       Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0

q       Microsoft Visual Studio 2005

q       C# .Net

q       SQL Programming

q       Windows Forms 2.0

q       InstallShield (11.5 experience preferred)

Preferred but not required skills:

q       Solid understanding of SQL database design

q       Smart Client Application Development

q       ASP.NET 2.0

q       Web Services (XML, SOAP, WSDL)

q       IIS 6.0

q       SQL Server Reporting Services

q       Experience utilizing the Microsoft Solutions Framework

q       Strong analytical and conceptual skills

q       Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate mission, vision, and value themes to all levels of the organization

q       Strong documentation skills – both in code and in user-level design and training documentation

Training/Certifications: 

Required:   None

Preferred:  .Net Version of MCSD, MCAD, or MCPD

Experience:

Required: 

q       1-2 years of Visual Studio development experience

q       1-2 years of .NET development experience

q       1-2 years of other Microsoft technology experience from the skills listed above

Preferred:

q       2+ years of Visual Studio development experience

q       2+ years of C# development experience

q       2+ years of SQL development experience

q       1+ years of web services (XML, SOAP, or WSDL) experience

q       2+ years of Windows Forms development experience
