Position Title:                SOLUTION ARCHITECT (LEGACY MODERNIZATION & .NET STRATEGY)

Reports To:                                     EXECUTIVE LEADER, MICROSOFT ARCHITECT SOLUTIONS

Description:          This position will provide leadership as a Legacy Modernization and Microsoft .NET Solution Development subject matter expert with deep knowledge of Microsoft's .NET strategies and Information Worker initiatives. Provides strategic advice to large accounts to work proactively with sales executives from a program management point of view supporting both corporate solutions and local capabilities and strategy. Interfaces with Microsoft in specific knowledge areas and performs architecture, design and reviews. Makes external presentations in different forums (customer, technology industry, analysts etc). Interfaces at the client C-Level and maintains domain expertise by participating in ongoing training and research. Maintains recognition as an industry thought leader and publish in key technical journals, present at premier industry events and participate in industry initiatives. Manages pre-sales support efforts for client proposals over $5 million in expected revenue.

Responsibilities:

·       As a recognized subject matter expert in the Microsoft Solutions domain, works with internal and external stakeholders to plan, develop, organize, monitor and deliver services and solutions to clients

·       Designs and integrates large and complex enterprise-wide solutions for major clients, interfacing with their senior executives. Assumes a creative leadership role to implement the business and/or technology engineering strategy efficiently and effectively

·       Demonstrates extensive knowledge and ability to appropriately use the broad spectrum of Enterprise Security Business and Technology artifacts, including forthcoming industry standards, emerging trends and/or industry trends, and new and revised standards

·       Assumes a proactive and direct role to identify, develop and cultivate profitable business opportunities and establish engagements

·       Interfaces with internal and external resources to develop proposals and work estimates

·       Responsible and accountable for the correctness, viability, and estimates for the solution and business architectural environment in client engagements

·       Develops and/or provides final review and approval of artifacts that define the business architecture of the solution

·       Applies a consistent set of business architectural guidelines in the creation of new solution architecture

·       Uses industry standard graphical modeling languages to develop business architectural designs

·       Contributes domain thought leadership both internally and externally

·       Maintains an awareness of and utilizes state-of-the-art best practices

·       Networks with peers from external companies

·       Authors business and/or technology related papers and articles. Presents at major industry conferences

·       Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with all business units. Uses these relationships to the best advantage in client engagements

Qualifications:     

1.     Bachelor’s degree

2.     Experience in sales and delivery within the Microsoft Solutions domain

3.     Consulting experience

4.     Experience working on large projects

5.     Proven practitioner with expertise in middleware strategies including SOA, BizTalk, WWF; .NET technologies including VSTS, C#, VB .NET and .NET Framework, SDLC and development methodologies like RUP and UML

6.     Extensive experience in developing legacy modernization strategies

7.     Willing to travel at least 50 to 75%

8.     Business development and presales experience

**Desired**

1.     Master's or advanced degree or equivalent experience

2.     Consulting experience with one of the Big 5 firms

3.     Good knowledge of MS stack from a strategic, operational, business & IT value perspective

4.     Specific knowledge in any of the Strategic program solutions like the whole SQL/BI, .NET Methodology or the whole Communication and Collaboration space

5.     Knowledge of ADM

6.     Knowledge of SEI's modernization strategy
