GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for analyzing and designing complete IT solutions that adhere to project architectural guidelines. Works closely with IT Project leaders and customers to review business process issues and project objectives, designing and developing solutions that exceed the customers expectations. Provides analysis and design support using UML and Enterprise Architect. Provides program development and support using .Net technologies (C# and ASP.NET) and databases (Oracle 9+ and SQLServer 2005). Primary focus will be to contribute to the design and development of a large legacy VB/Oracle 8 client server application into .NET and Oracle 10g technologies. Will also be asked to become the owner of one or more Service Oriented Architecture .Net components.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

1. Works closely with IT Project leaders and customers to review business process issues and project objectives, designing and developing solutions that exceed the customers expectations.
2. Works closely with IT Project leaders to develop project scope, timelines and effort estimations.
3. Assists with the quotation process, providing input such as resource needs, timing and cost.
4. Communicates and responds to client concerns and requests under the direction of IT Project leaders.
5. Responsible for the requirements, analysis, and design phases of assigned projects under the direction of Software Architects and/or IT Project leaders.
6. Analyzes and designs complete IT solutions that adhere to the project architectural and functional guidelines under the direction of Software Architects and/or IT Project leaders.
7. As needed, develops maintainable application code, which meets the architectural, design and functional requirements of the assigned projects.
8. Assists and mentors Programmer Analysts as needed on project teams.
9. Participate and/or facilitate application code reviews.
10. Tests and implements developed application code.
11. Documents the design, applications, process and work plan in accordance to the Valley Forge Software Development Process.
12. Maintains a high-level of proficiency in specialty areas and good understanding of related technologies needed to support the business.
13. Responsible for completing assigned tests, which are on time, within budgeted hours, accurate and adhere to the Valley Forge Software Development Process.
14. Works effectively in a team environment and perform ALL roles, within technical competencies, as needed and directed by IT Project leaders.
15. Facilitates customer satisfaction through the use of Quality Operating System Measurables for the department.
16. Completes assignments as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal and written communication, such as Requests for Quote, client communications, and technical information including Valley Forge Software Development Process artifacts.
2. Ability to communicate concerns and identify resolutions in a clear, concise manner.
3. Ability to meet deadlines, monitor and assess performance within deadlines, and utilize appropriate skills and resources to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
4. Ability to work with short deadlines and high stress.
5. Excellent problem solving and problem identification skills.
6. Excellent verbal and communication skills in English.
7. Ability to professionally utilize problem resolution skills while dealing with client or team related problems and issues.
8. Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field required. Programming certifications desirable.
9. Professional or Expert level proficiency in one or more of the following technical competency areas:
· Database Development ? Oracle 9+, SQL Server, SQL, Data modeling
· PC and WEB Application development in .NET ? C#, ASP.NET and VB, C++
10. Approximately five (5) years of experience in .NET development
11. Approximately 2 years experience in a business environment preferably in the technical publications industry.
