Urban Science is currently looking for Software Developers for its Detroit, MI. World Headquarters location.
· Working on team oriented software development projects in the role of software developer
· Following agile software development methodologies
· Development and refinement of software development methodologies and processes
· Working internally with production groups in the role of technical consultant
· Research and evaluation of new software technologies and tools
· Ongoing training in software development tools, technologies, and processes
· Meeting with Product and Technical Development team members for product planning and design purposes.
· Using Microsoft based development tools such as Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio .NET to implement software solutions.
· Working with Quality Assurance team members to develop test plans and resolve software problems.
· Meeting with project team members to discuss and resolve project related issues.
· Attending training classes and/or reading training material
· Reviewing work with peers
· Investigating new technologies for possible use such as WPF and WF.
· Working on rapid prototyping projects.
· Software development process improvement.
· BS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field.
· Experience in C# and .NET software development (be prepared to show examples of your work).
· Experience in ASP.NET development (be prepared to show examples of your work) and related skills in HTML, DHTML, XML or WINFORMS
· Experience in design and implementation of database driven applications.
· Windows 2000/XP, SQL, SQL Server, Access, Excel, Word, and other applications are desired.
· Software Development Life Cycle experience.
· GIS or graphic programming a plus.
The ideal candidate for this position will need excellent problem solving skills with a strong desire to be constantly challenged. Ability to work well in a team environment is a must. Candidate should be self motivated and show a thirst for learning new technologies and tools. Keeping technical skills current will be highly emphasized in this position.
